IoTeX and Nordic Work Together On The IoT Supply Chain Tracking System

The world provider of integrated electronic design services and products Nordic Semiconductor has announced that its low-power System-in-Package (SiP) with integrated LTE-M/NB-IoT modem and GPS was selected by blockchain development company IoTeX. The system will be used to provide the cellular IoT connectivity for its ‘Pebble Tracker’. This solution will be implemented for global assets tracking.

IoTeX’s Pebble Tracker providers users withe verified location, environment, and motion tracking data for global asset tracking and industrial supply chain applications. Thus, it will be possible to manage global asset transfers, improving the credibility of global supply chains for large-scale enterprises. IoTeX believes that their development meets the requirements of the market, providing a supply chain with increased data security, integrity protection, and multiparty trust.

The existing asset tracking systems lack the essential security features that have to protect transferred assets and products data across, creating additional challenges for companies and their distributors, being vulnerable to hacker attacks and data corruption.

Pebble Tracker has two versions, one focused on blockchain and IoT developers, and the second commercial version, developed specifically for the asset tracking and industrial supply chain market. The product uses its environmental sensor, motion sensor, and an ambient light sensor, with the nRF9160 SiP. The nRF9160 SiP provides the system with network connectivity and integrated GPS support, creating a unified supporting service for long-range tracking of asset data using already established cellular infrastructure.
